Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. rallied city residents to take advantage of the program being spearheaded by the city government in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Philippine Association of Local Labor Service Contractors Inc.
Ignacio Santos Diaz, chief of the city Industrial Relation Office (IRO), said 195 firms are participating in the job fairs, which will be held in La Loma (today), Novaliches (April 29) and at the City Hall covered court (from April 29 to May 1).
Santos Diaz said he expects some 6,000 job seekers to visit the scheduled job fairs.
The city government, under the stewardship of Belmonte, has helped a total of 20,000 city residents benefit from city governments employment program.
Meanwhile, the city government will formally launch tomorrow the Kasambahay program, which seeks to conduct massive registration of domestic workers in the citys 142 barangays.
Councilor Francisco Calalay, principal author of the Kasambahay ordinance, said the registration will benefit both employers and workers.
He said during the launching of the program, the city government will provide free medical and dental services to the workers in the city. Perseus Echeminada
