A Pasig City police has been sacked in connection with the slaying last April 13 of former Rep. Henry Lanot.
Metro police chief Deputy Director General Avelino Razon Jr., relieved Senior Inspector Cipriano Galanita, commander of Police Community Precinct 17 (PCP17) of the Pasig City police, whose jurisdiction covers the Jade Palace restaurant where Lanot was gunned down by an assassin last week.
Razon said the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) is also studying whether to replace the entire Pasig City police force in relation to Lanots assassination.
"The relief of the PCP commander should serve as an example to others that we are out to discipline them," Razon said. "We cannot afford to have the inefficiency of some of our police officials to destroy the good deeds of a big number of our policemen." Non Alquitran
