1 killed, 2 injured in QC road accident

An 18-year-old youth died on the spot while two others were injured when a dump truck rammed a tricycle in Quezon City the other night.
Police identified the fatality as Rennel Franco, of 93-D Barangay Batasan Hills. His head hit the pavement after being thrown off the tricycle.
Two other victims, identified as Arcy Figueroa and Wilfredo Habulan, both also of Barangay Batasan Hills, were brought to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.
Initial investigation showed that Francos tricycle, with Figueroa and Habulan as passengers, was traversing the IBP Road in Barangay Batasan Hills at around 11 p.m. on Saturday when a dump truck, with license plate TLH-933, suddenly hit the tricycle.
The driver of the dump truck, Allan Cruz, 31, of Kernel St., San Rafael, Bulacan, was arrested by authorities and is now detained at the Central Traffic District Sector 5.
Cruz will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and physical injuries. Katherine Adraneda
