Electrician killed in Sta. Cruz

A 29-year-old electrician died after he accidentally fell from a Meralco post while allegedly trying to illegally tap an electrical connection at a neighborhood in Sta. Cruz, Manila last Thursday night.
Police said Rizaldy de la Cruz died at the Ospital ng Tondo while undergoing treatment for a skull fracture.
Investigations showed the victim climbed a Meralco post at the corner of Aurora Boulevard Extension and Rizal Avenue at around 7 p.m. to tap a connection for his neighbors.
However, the victim touched a live wire, causing him to lose his balance. He fell head first to the pavement below.
Barangay tanods rushed the victim to the hospital.
Police learned that the victim made a living by repairing appliances. He reportedly augmented his income by illegally tapping electrical connection for his neighbors for a fee. Nestor Etolle
