Boy dies in Litex blaze

A five-year-old boy died in a fire that struck a squatters colony along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City early yesterday.
Fire Officer 3 Eddie Petudio identified the victim as Ricky Suarez Jr.
According to Petudio, the victim was sleeping at the second floor of their house located at the Samaca Compound in Palaran Street, Litex, Commonwealth Extension when the fire started at 1:25 a.m.
According to initial investigation, the fire started at the ceiling of the victims house and quickly spread to at least 50 adjacent shanties.
There were no other people reported injured in the fire. The fire was put out at 4:40 a.m. and reached alarm Task Force Bravo. Mike Frialde
