Patient makes death jump

A 57-year-old man jumped to his death from the fifth floor of the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) in Quezon City yesterday morning after being diagnosed with acute ulcer.

Benjamin Dacoco, of Napindin, Laguna, went out to his room’s terrace at around 6:45 a.m. and jumped. He died while undergoing treatment.

Police Officer 2 Joseph Dino of the Central Police District-Criminal Investigation Unit (CPD-CIU)said Dacoco was admitted at the EAMC the other day. He was confined at Room 5019.

Dino said Dacoco’s wife left his side to go to the comfort room. It was at this time that Dacoco got up from his hospital bed and proceeded to the terrace before jumping to his death.

Security guards of the hospital were surprised when a body landed near them.

They took Dacoco, whose legs were mangled, to the emergency room. Dacoco died at around 8:10 a.m. – Katherine Adraneda
