Donut Gang busted in Ortigas

Two men, who were believed to be members of the Donut Gang were apprehended the other night while stealing a spare tire from a government vehicle at the car park of a mall in Ortigas.
Inspector Gil del Rosario, chief of the intelligence and investigation branch of Central Police District-Station 8, identified the suspects as Mario Valencia, 32; and Gil Manlapig, 46, both of Boni Serrano street in Tondo, Manila.
The suspects were arrested at around 7:30 p.m. last Monday, while removing the spare tire of an Isuzu Fuego (SGS-263) that was parked at the Basement 3 parking aea of Robinsons Galleria.
Security guards were alerted after the operator of the mall security system saw the a man stealing the Dunlop tire through the surveillance cameras.
This suspects tried to run away, but were cornered by the guards.
Del Rosario said that the two suspects used a taxi in their operation. The suspects parked their taxi with body name "Super J" and license plate TVG-785 near the Fuego.
Mall security guards called the CPD-Station 8 for assistance.
Police impounded the taxi and detained the two men, who have been charged with theft. Katherine Adraneda
