Robbers hit store in Malabon

-
Five armed men robbed a 24-hour convenience store carting away an undetermined amount of cash and goods early Friday in Malabon City, authorities reported yesterday.

Initial investigation showed the suspects held up the Kids and Moms convenience store on P. Aquino corner Tantiangco streets at around 4:15 a.m. in Barangay Tonsuya. The store is reportedly one of several outlets owned by KMC Holdings Corp.

Security guard Herminio Magapo, Jr. 42, of Ligaya street, Barangay Tugatog, Malabon, told probers one of the gunmen poked a caliber .45 pistol on his side and disarmed him of his caliber .38 revolver.

The suspects then herded Mogape, together with cashier Naunine Magpayo, inside the store’s comfort room before helping themselves to the merchandise on the racks and cash in the register. Within 15 minutes, the heist was over with the suspects fleeing with their loot along Tantiangco street. – Jerry Botial, Pete Laude
