Mayor Mel Aguilar said the awarding of lot certificates was made possible through the Las Piñas Inter-Agency Committee on Housing composed of the National Housing Authority, Presidential Commission on Urban Poor, Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council and the Office of Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar.
Aguilar said the awarding of lot certificates to qualified beneficiaries is aimed at uplifting the living conditions of less fortunate residents. Beneficiaries to the said housing project will not be displaced from their place of work since development of the housing project will be made on site.
Aguilar said the 569 beneficiaries are part of the 6,500 families which benefited from the city government housing project. The local government plans to increase the beneficiaries to 10,000 families in line with its commitment to provide the necessary basic services to the poorest of the poor.
