Chinese national nabbed with P5-M shabu in Malabon

Agents of the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (PNP-AIDSOTF) and officers from the Northern Police District arrested an overstaying Chinese national and seized P5 million worth of shabu from his Malabon City residence yesterday morning.

The Special Operations Unit III of AIDSOTF under Senior Superintendent Eduardo Asierto arrested suspect Yin Zhiliang alias Joseph Ong during a 7:30 a.m. raid at 21 Yellow Bell street in Araneta Village.

Ong faces criminal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and immigration laws. Police said Ong failed to show pertinent documents to justify his stay in the country. A verification made with immigration officials showed that he had been classified as an "overstaying alien."

The raid was covered by a search warrant issued by Malabon Judge Emmanuel Laurea. Two kilos of shabu were seized from the suspect during the raid, the police said.

In a report to AIDSOTF commander Deputy Director General Edgar Aglipay, Acierto said Ong was tracked down after three of his cohorts arrested last July 19 by the same team of anti-drug agents spilled the beans.
