A four-and-a-half-hour fire razed some 50 houses at a squatters colony in Quezon City yesterday, leaving some 120 families homeless.
Fire investigators at the Central District Fire Department said the fire began at around 12:03 a.m. along BIR Road in Barangay Pinyahan.
No one was reported hurt in the incident.
Initial findings indicated the fire originated from the second floor of a three-story house. Flames quickly spread to adjacent houses.
At least 30 fire trucks, including those from different volunteer fire brigades, were deployed to battle the blaze that reached Task Force Delta. A fire out was declared around 4:40 a.m.
