Suspected drug peddler falls in raid

Police yesterday raided a house of a 32-year-old man, who had been tagged as an alleged drug peddler in a community in Quezon City.

Although the raid did not yield any illegal substance, the operation resulted in the confiscation of a deadly weapon and drug paraphernalia, including a glass "shabu mixer."

Police arrested the alleged owner of the drug paraphernalia, identified as Marvin Pare, of Sapang Bato street, Barangay Bagong Bahay in Libis.

Pare was presented to the media by Superintendent Agustin Caballes, commander of the Central Police District-Station 8, yesterday morning.

Investigation disclosed that Pare had been a subject of surveillance by operatives of CPD-Station 8 for his alleged involvement in drug-related activities.

At around 11 a.m. yesterday, CPD-Station 8 police officers raided Pare’s house along Sapang Bato street, and recovered the drug paraphernalia, a samurai sword and ammunition for a caliber .38 pistol.

Pare is now detained at the CPD-Station 8 as appropriate charges are being readied against him. — Katherine Adraneda
