Boy drowns in canal

-
The body of an 11-year-old boy who was declared missing on Friday was fished out of a canal in Caloocan City on Saturday.

Mike Oliver, of Block 38, Lot 8, Phase 3-F, Barangay 8, Dagat-Dagatan, Caloocan City was last seen playing near an open drainage at the back of a slaughter house at around 2 p.m. on Friday but failed to return home.

His parents and friends failed to locate him. But at around noon the following day, residents of Lapu-Lapu Extention in Barangay 8 found the boy’s body floating on a canal in their area.

Residents said the boy could have accidentally slipped and fell into the canal and drowned into its murky waters. Pete Laude
