A Filipino-Chinese businessman committed suicide yesterday by jumping out of the 11th floor of his condominium unit in San Juan.
The victim, Chito Reyes Tiouico, 36, sustained massive body injuries and died on the spot.
The San Juan police, however, are still digging deeper into the case to determine whether there is foul play involved in Tiouicos death.
Police prober PO3 Leo Iringan said the victim asked his househelp, identified only as Carmelita, to look for his 11-year-old son as he was not yet home at around 8:30 p.m.
When she returned with the boy to their condominium unit at 11-A Boardline Plaza Condominium along Eisenhower St. in Greenhills, the door was locked. The housemaid asked a neighbor to call Tiouico from the terrace but he was already on the ground bleeding and surrounded by onlookers.
Iringan said Tiouico suffered a mild stroke weeks back, which could have driven him to commit suicide. Police, however, could not say what kind of business Tiouico was involved in.
