Trader survives ambush

A trader cheated death after two unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen strafed his car in an ambush early yesterday morning in Caloocan City.
A frazzled Nolasco Baldazo, 38, married, of 169 Malolos Avenue, Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City reported the incident to the nearest police station seeking protection for his life after escaping the shooting unscathed.
Police gathered that the incident took place shortly after midnight. The victim was on board his Honda CRV (WHA)-170) cruising along Don Vicente Ang street in Bagong Barrio when the suspects blocked his path and opened fire as he reached an isolated portion. Although stunned by what was happening, Nolasco did not lose heart, stepped on the gas pedal and sped away to safety.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation on the incident. Jerry Botial
