Cops arrest security guard for rape

-
A 35-year-old security guard was arrested by the Manila police for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl inside his house in Tondo, Manila yesterday.

Police said Eduardo Tongol, of 1026 Tayabas street, Tondo, even tried to elude the arresting team by running on the rooftops, but he was no match for the pursuing policemen and barangay tanods.

Tongol’s wife identified only as a certain "Mane" is also being sought by the police for allegedly conspiring with her husband in committing the rape.

Following his arrest, Tongol was positively identified by the victim as the person who sexually abused her overnight.

Accompanied by her father and elder sister, the girl narrated to police that she went to the couple’s house Friday night to receive the payment for an electric fan earlier sold by her brother-in-law to the couple.

Once inside, the victim said the suspect’s wife left them, saying she needed to buy something from a nearby store.

The girl said the suspect locked the door and undressed her. The victim also said that during her ordeal she was made to eat candy by the suspect, telling her that it would relieve the pain she may experience.

After satisfying his lust, the suspect reportedly allowed the victim to leave the house while warning her not to tell anyone about what happened.

However, the victim related her ordeal to her relatives who immediately reported the incident to the police.

Neighbors of the suspect revealed to police that in the past, the suspect, allegedly a drug dependent, had molested several young girls. None of them filed charges out of fear.
