In simple ceremonies held during yesterdays flagraising ceremony, the mayor also announced the spot promotion of Edgar Villanueva from senior revenue examiner to supervising revenue examiner.
Villanueva posted a record collection when he turned over to the city treasurer a whopping P29 million in a single day.
Aside from Villanueva, other members of the task force, headed by Eduardo Evangelista, received plaques of commendation signed by City Treasurer Victor Endriga and Belmonte.
Among those who received a bronze plaque were Jesus Alpuerto, Lino Bernal Jr., Enrique Donasco, Anaclito Manalac, Angel Angeles Arnel Cleofas, Shaira Liban and Antonio Saur.
Belmonte cited the task force for helping Quezon City retain its title as the richest city in the country.
The special task force has been concentrating on the collection of taxes from big firms operating in Quezon City.
Evangelista said that they are well on their way to exceeding the P100-million collection target by the end of the month.
"In recognition of their achievements and their proven competence, dedication to duty and exemplary leadership, plaques of commendation are hereby awarded," the mayor said.
Endriga said the target of the city government is to hit the P5.6-billion target, which is P4 million higher than last years collection. Perseus Echeminada
