Las Piñas completes 101 infra projects

-
The year 2003 was a banner year for Las Piñas City completing 101 modern and high quality infrastructure projects comparable to modern structures in first world countries.

Las Piñas Mayor Vergel Aguilar said the projects were implemented and completed as targeted by the city government.

"It has even surpassed the quality set, making such structures competitive with those of other modern cities," the mayor said.

Aguilar said the projects were made possible as a result to the city administration’s prudent spending of taxpayers’ money and the remarkable increase in tax collection for the past years, which he said is manifestation of the residents continued confidence in the city government.

The mayor has commended city engineer Rose Bantog and her staff for their commitment and dedication in fast-tracking the infrastructure projects in line with the government’s effort to provide the basic necessary social services to its constituents.

Reports from the City Engineering Office showed that among the 101 completed projects were the construction and improvement of roads, drainage systems, construction, repair and improvement of school buildings, classrooms, multi-purpose and barangay halls, installation and fabrication of playground equipment, covered basketball courts among many others.

Other accomplishments were the completion of a three-story, 15-classroom high school building in Barangay BF International/CAA; the construction of tricycle terminal cum livelihood center in Barangay Almanza II; two multi-purpose halls in Barangay Talon II and Talon IV; and a two-story Social Development Center for street children.
