Man’s fatal fall from high-rise baffles police

Mystery surrounds the death of a man found dead late Saturday afternoon at the parking lot of a high-rise building in Makati City.

Authorities believed that the victim, identified as Oscar Molina, 51, a widower, fell from the eighth floor of the Atrium Building at the corner of Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas. But how and why he fell remain a puzzle to the police.

Case investigator Police Officer 1 Roderick Sunga said in his report that Molina, a helper, arrived at the place with driver Leo Samar at around 1 p.m. on Saturday reportedly to install an LPG tank at the Kusinerang Pinoy canteen located at the building’s eighth floor.

Samar told police that after waiting for Molina for an hour, he went to the canteen to look for his companion but failed to find him.

At around 4:30 p.m., one Rollie Etoc discovered the victim’s body sprawled on the parking lot.

Police are still trying to determine if foul play was involved in Molina’s death.

But police record indicated that Molina’s sisters refused to have his body autopsied. Nikko Dizon
