Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. ordered yesterday the Task Force Sagip Buhay to be on alert during the New Years Eve revelry to respond to any emergency call from the residents of the city.
Task Force Sagip Buhay chief Flordeliza Agdigos said eight ambulances would be stationed in strategic places in the city to monitor and render immediate assistance to any emergency.
The task force will provide first aid treatment to those injured before they are rushed to various hospitals.
Belmonte has warned the public against indiscriminate firing of guns during the observance of New Year as he called on city residents to be extra cautious to avoid accidents.
He advised the public to use noisemakers like horns instead of exploding firecrackers and to use legally allowed firecrackers with great care.
"It would be best for us to welcome the New Year with prayers to ensure an accident-free New Year," Belmonte said. Pia Lee-Brago
