1 hurt in gas station heist

A teenager was injured by a stray bullet when two armed men robbed a Chinese businesswoman at a gasoline station early Friday evening in Pasay City.

May Ong, a resident of Happy Subdivision, Valenzuela City, went to the Pasay City police station and reported that two armed men forcibly took her black shoulder bag and shot a bystander.

Bernard Bracero, a resident of Maricaban, Pasay City, was taken to a nearby hospital for a bullet wound. Police has yet to receive a medical report on his condition.

Initial investigation showed Ong was at the parking area of a Petron gasoline station at FB Harrison street corner Cuneta Avenue in Pasay City and was about to board a white Mitsubishi L300 with plate number NHL-173 when two men with pistols approached her.

At gunpoint the suspects forcibily took her bag that contained P1,000, a gold ring worth P2,000, her driver’s license and other pertinent documents and a set of keys.

Before fleeing, one of the suspects fired two shots and hit the right front tires of the victim’s car to prevent her from chasing them. But one of the bullets ricocheted and hit Bracero. – Evelyn Macairan
