Mega job fair in QC today

The Quezon City government will conduct another mega job fair today as part of its continuing commitment to provide employment opportunities for city residents, particularly the urban poor.

Participating in the job fair are the country’s leading companies. It will be held at the Quezon City Hall covered walk from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The activity will highlight the weeklong celebration of Youth Week in the city.

Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. has urged citizens to take advantage of the program, saying it is part of the effort of the city government to curb the unemployment rate.

Belmonte assured them that the city government will continue to intensify the campaign to provide gainful employment opportunities for city residents next year.

As of Oct. 30, a total of 4,445 Quezon city residents have benefited from a series of job fairs held by the city government.

Ignacio Santos Diaz, city industrial relations officer, said some 40 companies are participating in today’s job fair. Of the 40 firms, 30 will hire job seekers for local employment and the rest for overseas employment.
