A six-month-old baby girl died after a one-hour fire broke out in a residential area in Valenzuela City Saturday night.
The infants mother, Eva Yamson, 31, was reportedly out of their house when the incident occurred.
Senior Fire Officer 3 Arnel Ibasco, in his report to Valenzuela City fire marshal Chief Inspector Efren Yadao, said that the blaze broke out at around 6:28 p.m. at the house owned by couple Randy and Eva Yamson located at Geranium street in De Castro Subdivision, Barangay Mapulang Lupa.
The fire quickly devoured the structure made of light materials.
The fire reached the third alarm but was contained by firefighters before it could totally destroy a neighboring residence.
Firemen, however, failed to rescue the child that was left inside the house.
Arson investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire but damage to property was placed at around P200,000. Pete Laude
