He should have just held it and fled

- Jerry Botial -
He could have quickly scrammed after robbing an auto supply store but the anxiety of the moment drove him to answer the call of nature at his victim’s toilet. To his horror, he found himself locked in and, later, was arrested for robbery Friday night in Caloocan City.

Suspect Renato Layson, 3, single, of 4th Avenue, Caloocan City, told probers he regretted, not pulling off the heist, but having stood a minute longer to relieve himself at his victim’s toilet instead of immediately getting out of the scene of the crime.

Probers said Layson was arrested by responding policemen at around 10:45 Friday night inside the comfort room of the New Farline Auto Supply at 215 Rizal Avenue Extension corner 6th Avenue, Grace Park, Caloocan City owned by a certain Dr. Charlie Sy.

Probers said the suspect gained entry into the already closed establishment by climbing the concrete fence from the neighboring lot and through an opening on the roof and into the store itself. Unable to contain the urge to relieve himself, Pingol decided to answer the call of nature but found himself locked from the inside. His panicked attempt to open the door created a lot of noise catching the attention of the owners, who quickly sought police assistance.
