Death on C-5

An 18-year-old student believed to be a victim of hit-and-run was found dead yesterday midnight on the C-5 Road near a gasoline station in Taguig.
Senior Police Officer 2 Ronald Dimaguila identified the victim as Jacquelyn Buccat, native of Tarlac and resident of Block 330, Lot 52, San Agustin street, Tembo, Makati City.
Police said the victim was discovered by motorists headed for the gasoline station along the road.
"It was obvious that she (Buccat) was hit by a large vehicle, probably a truck, as shown by her injuries. Grabe, pilipit yung mga buto," the investigator said.
He said no one in the area witnessed the incident.
The victim was found near the other side of the road, which led the investigator to suspect that she was crossing C-5 when a speeding vehicle hit her.
The prober said a follow-up investigation would be conducted, including the search for a possible witness to the hit-and-run. Edu Punay
