Holdup men no match for 2 sisters

Two suspected holdup men proved no match to two brave sisters who put up a tenacious fight after they were held up Monday night in Caloocan City.

Rogelio Justiniano, 36, jobless, and, Roderick Victoria, 26, both of Lapu-Lapu Extension, Dagat-dagatan, Caloocan City told probers they did not know what hit them.

Police said a prowl car of the city’s mobile patrol unit quickly responded at about 7 p.m. Monday at the corner of Rizal Avenue Extension and 5th Avenue after noticing what they thought was a commotion inside a passing passenger jeepney.

The cops tailed the vehicle and ordered the driver to pull over as their gut feel turned out to be true – a holdup was in progress. But the suspects were down on the jeep floor already subdued by the passengers.

The cops immediately arrested the suspects and recovered their unlicensed handguns and subsequently brought to police headquarters.

Prior to the arrest, the two suspects boarded the southbound passenger jeepney (PXX-437) from Monumento driven by Necitas de Luna, 42, some four blocks away. Soon the duo declared a holdup. However, sisters Myrna Delantani, 40 and her younger sister Rosanna, 23, had other things in mind than to get scared and part with their cash and valuables. With feline fury they flailed their arms and scratched the suspects faces with their long manicured nails even as they yowled and howled totally stunning the suspects into immobility. The other male passenger then followed through and ganged up on the amateur goons completely and literally flooring them until the cops arrived.
