CIDG cop busted for selling shabu

A police officer assigned with the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) was arrested yesterday during an anti-drug operation in Quezon City.

Philippine National Police deputy chief for administration Deputy Director Edgar Aglipay immediately ordered the filing of criminal and dismissal charges against SPO1 Raul Palad alias Raul Bornaco, 37, assigned at the CIDG headquarters in Camp Crame.

Aglipay said Palad was nabbed by combined agents of the PNP Anti Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force and the men of the Cubao police station during a buybust operation at 2:10 a.m. at the Everglow Apartelle located at the corner of 12th Avenue and P. Tuazon street in Cubao.

Palad is included in the watch list of known drug users and pushers in Barangay Socorro, Quezon City.

Aglipay said Palad is the 246th policeman arrested for drug-related activities since the creation of the task force last June.

During the buybust, the policeman handed over a plastic sachet of shabu estimated at P1,000.

PO2 Edwin de Guzman, who posed as buyer, said the suspect yielded 11 sachets with white crystalline substances believed to be shabu. – Christina Mendez, Katherine Adraneda
