Cops stop PUJ robbers

A holdup suspect was hurt after he and his three cohorts engaged police in a shootout following a jeepney heist yesterday morning in Quezon City.
All four holdup men were arrested by authorities.
Three are detained at the Central Police District-Criminal Investigation Unit (CPD-CIU) in Camp Karingal while Angelito Natalio, 35, of Sta. Cruz, Manila is recuperating at the East Avenue Medical Center after being shot in the right thigh.
The other suspects were identified as Danilo Lorenzo, 24, and Joselito Tuazon, 24, both also of Sta. Cruz, Manila; and Ronnie Villar, 26, of Lower Bicutan, Taguig.
Investigators said the suspects, posed as passengers on board a jeepney (DGE-249) in front of the Broadway Centrum in Barangay Valencia at about 1 a.m.
Armed with bladed weapons and an improvised shotgun, the suspects divested passengers of their personal belongings and cash.
The victims were able to cry for help which was heard by cops in a patrol car nearby.
Natalio immediately fired at the responding lawmen, who retaliated and hit him. The three others were collared minutes later.
