Death plunge

A vagrant and a barker fell to their deaths from the top of a Metro Rail Transit (MRT) post in Cubao, Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Isidro Quiambao alias "Bong," a jeepney barker with no permanent address, was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center (QMMC) due to a fractured skull.

He was allegedly pushed by a vagrant, described as 20-25 years old, 5’4 in height, sporting long hair, with fair complexion. He himself was killed after jumping from the MRT post.

Police said the incident took place near Aurora Boulevard in Cubao at around 2:45 a.m.

Investigation showed Quiambao climbed the MRT post to sleep but was followed by the vagrant.

The vagrant, who was said to be mentally unstable, laid down beside Quiambao. But after a few minutes, the vagrant got up, and, without any provocation, pushed the barker off the MRT post.

After seeing Quiambao bloodied on the ground, the vagrant also jumped from the post. – Pia Lee-Brago
