Police have identified one of the robbers that stormed into the Citibank Center in Makati City last Monday.
The man is identified as Randel Llanos, according to Southern Police District (SPD) director Chief Superintendent Jose Gutierrez Jr.
Llanos also belonged to the armed group that robbed the Equitable PCIBank at Paseo de Roxas and Jupiter Street last April.
Llanos was caught on Citibanks CCTV surveillance cameras, as well as two of his companions who were also part of the previous robbery.
The two men have yet to be identified.
Gutierrez said the police information about the robbery groups have been coming in "bits and pieces."
"We still have to make the connection," he said.
Gutierrez said that among the similarities between the Citibank and Equitable robbery groups were the number of men involved, going through the back door, and the use of high-powered guns.
Gutierrez said it was possible that the robbers checked out the bank days before the hit.
According to the security guards, the robbers knew exactly were to go for the cash.
The bank vault, however, was not opened.
