The search for outstanding citizens of Quezon City is on.
Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr. created yesterday a five-man award committee that will select this years Gawad Quezon awardees in the fields of education, military, medicine and other field of endeavors in the city.
Belmonte named Napoleon Rama, publisher of Manila Bulletin as head of the committee with former budget secretary Salvador Enriquez, Mike Enriquez of GMA Channel 7, Councilor Jorge Banal, and Kalayaan College vice president Gonzalo Jurado as members.
The prestigious Gawad Quezon award is conferred on individuals who have gained recognition, or brought honor to Quezon City for their outstanding achievements and excellence in their respective profession.
The awarding ceremony and testimonial dinner will highlight the 64th foundation anniversary of Quezon City on Oct. 12. Perseus Echeminada
