Biker killed in Taguig

Using a cellular phone and motorcycle as leads, the Taguig municipal police said it hopes to determine the identity of a man who was shot and left dead in a dimly-lit road in Maharlika Village last Monday night.
Case Investigator Police Officer 2 Jun Obico said the victim, whom he described to be around 26 years old, 64 in height and with a butterfly tattoo on his left arm.
The body was found near his motorcycle at around 11 p.m. along Marawi Avenue, Maharlika Village, where investigators recovered a slug from a caliber .45 pistol. The victim died from a lone gunshot wound in the nape.
"We are still in the stage of determining the victims identity. Using the cellular phone recovered from the crime scene, we made a short call to one of the listed numbers and learned that the victims name was "Sonny" residing in Marikina City," Obico said.
He is now waiting for the victims relatives or friends to drop by the police station to get more information that could shed light on the cause of Sonnys death and possibly unmask his perpetrators.
With the discovery of the cellular phone and P300 cash in his pocket, police have ruled out robbery as a motive. Heavy rains washed away any possible fingerprints.
Senior Police Officer 1 Dennis Rafael said they also have in their possession a black Honda motorcycle (TU8638), believed to be owned by the victim.
"Unlike other incidents wherein the victims are killed elsewhere and dumped in dimly-lit places, in this case the discovery of the motorcycle is a strong indication that Sonny was killed here," Obico said.
Rafael added: "There is also a possibility that the victim might have known his assailants because the engine was turned off. They could either have been talking or the killer was his passenger.
