Ricardo San Juan, DOT-Western Mindanao regional director, is inviting all Zamboangeños, Basileneous and other Western Mindanao natives in Metro Manila to attend the opening of the two-week celebration on Sunday at 4 p.m.
Members of the Zamboanga organizations of the Ateneo de Zamboanga in Metro Manila; the Hermanidad de Zamboanga; the Chong Hua Metro Manila Association; and the Zamboanga City High School Lamp Foundation in Manila are also enjoined to attend the opening rites at the Plaza San Ignacio in Intramuros, Manila.
Mayor Maria Clara Lobregat of Zamboanga City will grace the presentation of the peninsulas festivals and ribbon-cutting of the Zampen cultural market during the opening rites. A nightlong serenade by the major Chords caps the opening day.
