Teener dead in Tondo rumble

A teenager was killed while another was wounded in a rumble in Tondo, Manila late Thursday night.

The fatality was identified Francis Basiar, 19, of 2937 Pilar St., Manuguid, Tondo, Manila. He was shot in the left ankle but died to a nervous attack upon reaching the Tondo Hospital.

Basiar’s friend Ronald Colar, 23, also of Pilar street is now undergoing treatment at the Ospital ng Maynila. He was hit in the right portion of the stomach.

SPO2 Raul Olavario of the Western Police District (WPD) said Basiar and Colar are members of the Phi Lambda Fraternity.

Olavario said the incident took place at 10:30 p.m. at the corner of Pilar and Morong Sts. in Tondo while the victims’ group was having a drinking spree at the area when the suspects showed up and, without warning, fire their weapons indiscriminately.

At least seven suspects, two of whom were identified only as Spot and Jun-Jun, all of the Simple Minded Family (SMF) Gang, managed to elude arrest. They were armed with caliber .45 pistols. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
