A lingering illness drove a man to jump to his death yesterday at a hospital in Quezon City.
Nomer Flores, 28, of 19 Holy Spirit Drive in Barangay Holy Spirit jumped from the fifth floor of the East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC) around 4:30 a.m., police said.
Investigation showed that when the attendant left the room to buy food at the ground floor, the patient removed his oxygen mask and the dextrose hose from his body and walked to the terrace of room 5015.
According to witnesses, Flores even uttered a final message to his father before climbing up the railings and finally jumping to his death. He landed on the ground head first.
"Sabihin nyo sa tatay ko, paalam," Flores was quoted as saying.
