Dizon, of White Plains Subdivision in Quezon City, was transferred to the Cardinal Santos Hospital in San Juan after receiving treatment at the Mandaluyong City Medical Center. She was later declared in stable condition.
After spending time with her family and friends on her birthday Wednesday night, Dizon boarded her black BMW (UHP 505) and told her mother, Dorothy, she would be driving around the neighborhood in White Plains.
Traffic officer, PO3 Roberto Dumagas said Dizon may have lost control of the steering wheel and rammed into the post while making a U-turn along the dimly lit portion of Pioneer street going to Shaw Boulevard.
Newly-installed Mandaluyong City police chief Superintendent Ericson Velasquez did not rule out the possibility that the actress may have been too tired and sleepy when the accident happened at 2 a.m.
Velasquez said a tricycle driver who witnessed the incident pulled Dizon out of the wrecked car and brought her to a nearby hospital.
Residents have called the attention of Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin "Benhur" Abalos Jr. to install proper lighting in the said area. A night before Dizon figured in the mishap, another car hit a parked truck when making the same maneuver. Non Alquitran
