Former national womens tennis champion Jackie Castillejo was slightly injured after a tire of her sedan burst on the South Luzon Tollway (SLT) yesterday morning.
Castillejo, a sister of former athlete and TV personality Dyan Castillejo and a resident of BF Homes Subdivision in Parañaque, sustained bruises and a wounded finger, according to reports.
The accident happened at around 4:30 a.m. on the southbound lane, Km. 25, Barangay Bayanan, Muntinlupa City, said Senior Police Officer 1 Rey Abo, officer-in-charge of the Traffic Enforcement Group (TEG).
Abo said Castillejo lost control of her Nissan Sentra (PNS 332) after one of the cars tires exploded.
The vehicle luckily did not spin and instead hit the railing on the expressway.
Moreover, the driver of a trailer truck (PUJ 932) trailing Castillejo saw the accident, slowed down, and avoided the car.
