Cops identify killer of councilor’s son

The Makati Police has identified the suspect in the slaying of a city councilor’s son last Friday night.

PO2 Ricky Tan of the Makati police identified the suspect as Leozar de la Cruz, a resident of Signal Village in Taguig. He has been tagged by witnesses as the man who killed Vincent Pimentel, son of Makati Councilor Astolfo Pimentel.

Tan claimed the suspect had a reputation of being a big-time drug pusher in Barangay Rizal, where the victim had resided. At least two witnesses positively identified the suspect, whose mug shot was presented during the follow-up investigation.

The witnesses saw De la Cruz slash the throat of Pimentel along Mockingbird street in Barangay Rizal last Friday night. Pimentel died at the Ospital ng Makati. – Marvin Sy
