Makati fire razes 100 houses

Around 100 houses were razed to the ground in a two-hour fire at a residential area in Barangay Cembo, Makati City yesterday.
Initial reports from the Makati City Fire Department revealed that the fire started from a house in a squatters area just below the Guadalupe Complex along J.P. Rizal street, Barangay Cembo.
Fire Marshall Superintendent Arsenio Tabajonda said huge flames were seen inside the room of the house at around 4:40 a.m. and quickly spread to other shanties.
Tabajonda said that they had difficulty entering the area because of the narrow paths and the numerous appliances and household items placed by the residents in the middle of the road.
The fire reached Task Force Echo and lasted until 6:44 a.m. Marvin Sy
