Reign of fire in Camanava

An estimated P10 million in goods and property went up in smoke after fire broke out yesterday in separate areas in Malabon, Valenzuela and Caloocan City.

In Malabon, Senior Inspector Sixto Bautista, Malabon fire marshal, was slightly hurt in a fire that damaged P3 million in property yesterday in Sitio 6, Barangay Catmon. Some 100 houses, mostly shanties burned down in the fire that started at the 22nd floor of a house owned by Lydia Valero, 33. The fire broke out at 8:08 a.m. and was put out at 9:27 a.m.

FO1 Jonathan Reyes of the Valenzuela Fire Station said seven houses were razed along Tolentino street, Gen. T. de Leon, Valenzuela City. The fire started at 1:05 p.m. in a bedroom of a duplex house owned by Celso Sumadsab. The fire was declared out at 1:42 p.m.

FO2 Marcelino Espeso III, desk officer at the Caloocan Fire Station said fire hit a small piggery at 259 Barrio Pacita, Caloocan City at around 4 p.m. Wednesday when a kerosene stove exploded. The fire was declared out at 5:35 p.m.  Jerry Botial
