Actor Robin da Roza hurt in bar fight

-
Actor Roberto "Robin" da Roza was injured yesterday in a bar fight with the alleged son of former Isabela Gov. Benjamin Dy in Makati City.

Da Roza, 32, a resident of Ecology Village III, Barangay San Lorenzo, Makati City, personally appeared before the Makati police yesterday to report the incident which left him with several stitches in his left cheek.

According to the actor, he was with two friends at the Olive Disco Bar along Makati Avenue in Barangay Poblacion at around 3:30 a.m. when the incident took place. One of Da Roza’s companions Enrique Javier told the police that they were celebrating his birthday at the bar. He said he saw the suspect Nicolai Dy get up from his table near where they were sitting and exit from the premises. Moments later Dy returned and suddenly threw an empty bottle of beer in the direction of Da Roza.

Da Roza was hit on his left cheek and another bottle was hurled at him but he was able to avoid it.

The companions of Da Roza immediately got in between the two men to prevent a possible fight and the actor was brought to the Makati Medical Center for treatment. Da Roza told reporters that he found out about the identity of Dy from the other people inside the bar who were familiar with the suspect.

He also revealed that Dy was accompanied by a certain Panfilo Lacson Jr., allegedly the son of Senator Ping Lacson, but he was not included in the complaint.

Both Javier and Da Roza were not able to cite any reason for the assault by Dy but there were reports that there was a common love interest between the actor and the suspect.

SPO1 Lewelie Cristobal of the Homicide Division of the Makati police said a charge of slight physical injuries will be filed against Dy. The suspect is still at large. – Marvin Sy
