The Philippine National Police (PNP) has started ways yesterday to help the youngest member of the force, six-year-old Joe Allan Mendoza, who is suffering from leukemia.
According to PNP community relations chief Director Ricardo de Leon, the PNP is doing its best to help the young boy who has become a living inspiration to every policeman in the country. De Leon said negotiations are underway with a big corporation, which had expressed intentions to support the hospital and medical needs of Mendoza, who has been diagnosed with leukemia since he was three.
De Leon admitted that the young Mendoza has indeed become an inspiration to the whole PNP as officials granted his wish to become a policeman last Monday.
De Leon said another police official, Senior Superintendent Raul Bacalzo volunteered to share his experiences with Mendozas family to help them understand leukemia and how to deal with it.
