Warrant out for Atenean’s killer

-
The hunt is on for the suspected killer of Ateneo law graduate Jose Ramon Llamas.

Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 119 Judge Pedro de Leon Gutierrez issued yesterday an arrest warrant against suspect Bashir Abdulrahman.

Chief city prosecutor Francisco Beron Jr. concurred with the complainants and recommended the filling of a murder charge against Abdulrahman with the RTC after assessing the evidence submitted to him and conducting a preliminary investigation.

The Llamas family, represented by lawyer Vic Verdadero, as well as the Pasay City police and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed murder charges against Abdulrahman with the city prosecutor’s office early last month because of the alleged treachery in the killing.

Llamas reportedly had his back to Abdulrahman when he was gunned down during a traffic altercation at the corner of Taft and Buendia Avenues last Jan. 10.

The 26-year-old was shot twice more as he lay bleeding on the ground.

Abdulrahman, a resident of Arlegui Street, Manila and Marawi City, has been in hiding since he was identified by the Pasay police as the prime suspect in the killing. He was reported to be hiding in Marawi then in Pampanga. Nikko Dizon
