Student shoots self
March 3, 2003 | 12:00am
A 22-year-old student of Adamson University in Ermita, Manila allegedly shot himself in the head inside the schools church quadrangle Saturday night and is now virtually dead.
Isagani Sorillo was last reported to be "clinically dead" at the Philippine General Hospital for a gunshot wound in the right temple. The slug remains imbedded in the head of the unconscious victim.
Police could not immediately determine the course and other background of the victim although he was reported to be living nearby at the corner of St. Vincent and San Marcelino streets.
Initial police reports indicate Sorillo first approached school security guard Julius Corvera and borrowed his service pistol, but the latter turned this down. But about 11 p.m. Saturday night, the victim reportedly grabbed Corveras caliber .38 revolver and shot himself.
The relation of Corvera with Sorillo could not be immediately known. It was Corvera and the other guards who rushed the victim to the hospital. Jose AravillaODY>
