Pasig City Mayor Soledad Eusebio has announced the start of construction for the city government-funded Bagong Ilog-Sta. Rosa Bridge, intended to enhance mobility of pedestrians and motorists.
"The Eusebio administration is known for improving traffic in Pasig City and in linking the city with neighboring towns and cities. It is a mission started by my predecessor, Mayor Vicente Eusebio, which I intend to continue because it will boost the local economy," the mayor said.
She also stressed the new span, which will cut across Marikina River, is expected to decongest traffic in the crowded Kapasigan area. Hopefully, it would entice more investors to pour their capital into the city.
The Bagong Ilog-Sta. Rosa Bridge will be the fifth bridge project to be constructed under the Eusebio administration. The city will soon construct and finance a new flyover along Julia Vargas and Meralco Avenue to ease traffic and attract more investors in the prime Ortigas Center area.
"This administration will continue to construct and finance more bridges if we have to in the name of progress and development," Eusebio said.
