Police nab teener in QC double-slay

Police arrested the other night one of two teenagers believed to be behind the killing of a Christian missionary and her housemaid two days ago in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City.
Suspect Jesus Austero III, 18, a tricycle driver, of 101 Area 1-B Luzon Avenue, is now detained at the Central Police District (CPD) headquarters in Camp Karingal awaiting proper charges.
His alleged partner in the crime, Nomar Mallo, 19, was able to escape arresting police officers.
Last Tuesday, two men robbed and stabbed dead Myrna Loi Beebe, 58, and Jovelyn Parejo, 21, inside their house at 13 Viola St., St. Dominic Subdivision, Barangay Culiat at about 1:35 a.m.
According to SPO1 Rafael de Peralta, Austero had admitted to committing the crime. Recovered from him were a Gucci watch, a Nokia 3310 cellphone, assorted pieces of jewelry and about P15,000 in cash, items that belonged to the slain missionary.
Austero was arrested after a follow-up operation by elements of the CPD-Theft and Robbery Section, led by Inspector Jaime Amor.
He was collared near his home at about 7 p.m. De Peralta said Mallo was with Austero at the time but was able to run away.
