GMA visits Manila condos

-
Average income families in the country’s capital can now own decent dwelling at very affordable prices.

This was made possible after the city government of Manila embarked on a housing project in Pandacan, wherein middle-income families can acquire units of a four-story condominium equipped with modern amenities.

President Arroyo, assisted by Manila Mayor Lito Atienza and other national government housing officials, inspected yesterday the Residencias de Manila, built on a 19,468-square-meter government property.

The housing project has 100 units available and is located beside the Estero de Pandacan and Nagtahan Bridge. The project is part of the housing component of Atienza’s Buhayin ang Maynila Program.

During the inspection, Atienza thanked the President for her strong support of the housing project.

The units have floor areas ranging from 36 to 43 square meters.

The project was implemented through a memorandum of agreement entered into by the city government and New San Jose Builders.

Under the MOA, the builder, at no cost to the government, would build nine condominiums that could accommodate between 1,200 to 2,000 low- to middle- income families.

Interested parties can acquire the units through affordable financing schemes to be provided by the developer and the Pag-IBIG Fund, the government’s house financing agency. Cecille Suerte Felipe
