A birthday party turned bloody after the celebrant and his visitors were attacked by their neighbor, resulting in the death of three people and wounding of two others, including a police officer, last Sunday in Pasay City.
Suspect Borbie Salazar Rivera immediately fled with his uncle, Police Officer 3 Jose Salazar, reportedly assigned at the Regional Headquarters Support Group in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig.
While Salazar did not fire his gun, witnesses said the policeman did not lift a finger when he saw his nephew shoot the victims.
City police chief Senior Superintendent Oscar Catalan immediately formed "Task Force Tugis" for the arrest of the suspects.
Authorities said victim Catalino Bautista Jr., of Pinagbuhatan, Pasig, was declared dead on arrival at the Pasay City General Hospital while Anthony Petilla, 25, and Joselito Manlangit, died while undergoing treatment at the Manila Sanitarium Hospital and San Juan de Dios Hospital, respectively.
