Bad blood leaves 1 dead in Taguig

-
For the love of his one-year-old daughter, a man faced an angry neighbor who wanted to see him dead Sunday night in Taguig.

Teofanie Vicena, 41, was hiding from Edwin Galzote Sr., when he was told that the latter had his one-year-old daughter.

Vicena went to see Galzote to ask for the release his daughter, police said. He was killed after being shot at least four times.

The suspect immediately fled after the incident, leaving an identification card in haste.

Galzote’s ID indicated he was a marshall in Barangay 31 Southside, Makati City.

According to case investigator SPO4 Reggie Capasin of the Taguig police Criminal Investigation Division (CID), the incident took place at around 7 p.m. in front of Vicena’s house on Fox Street, Palar Village, Barangay Western Bicutan.

Police gathered that a drunk Galzote arrived at the victim’s house and demanded to see him. The two neighbors reportedly had a rift.

Vicena chose to ignore Galzote and remained inside his house. However, when the suspect saw his neighbor’s daughter, he grabbed and took off with her.

Vicena rushed out of the house the moment he learned that Galzote had his daughter. At the sight of Vicena, Galzote released the child and allegedly shot the victim. – Nikko Dizon
