Dolphy’s son arrested

Police arrested the other day a son of actor-comedian Dolphy after he was allegedly caught using shabu with some friends at a house in Bago Bantay, Quezon City.

Raul Quizon, a TV production assistant, and a resident of Towerville Townhomes, Interville 2, Project 6, is now detained at the Central Police District headquarters awaiting proper charges.

Also arrested were Bernie Nabong, 50, and Jun Lagman, 25. The three were apprehended by CPD-Drug Enforcement Unit agents at Lagman’s address located at 3-B Abra Street, Bago Bantay.

Authorities seized five aluminum foil strips, three empty plastic sachets, a black plastic box, and disposable lighters. Traces of shabu were reportedly detected yesterday.

Reports showed that Quizon, Nabong, and Lagman were caught by police "in the act of sniffing shabu" at about 4 p.m.

Quizon vehemently denied that he is a drug user, saying he was "at the right place at the wrong time." He said that the police made a "terrible mistake."

"I’m not supposed to be here. I am not using drugs. This is very embarrassing, especially for my father," Quizon told The Star in an interview.

He added that he did not know Nabong and Lagman personally, and that he saw them for the first time when "an acquaintance invited him to his house."

Quizon, who claims to have produced some comedy sitcoms in the 80s, said he was near the area when he bumped into a young male acquaintance he had not seen for five years. He was later invited to the house.

Quizon said that once he got there, Lagman and Nabong arrived and brought out shabu.

"I was shocked when I saw them doing drugs. I was sitting on a sofa when the cops suddenly barged inside the house. They probably thought that I was with them," he said.
